Superstructure rising as programme stays on track

Steel and concrete work is advancing across the full footprint of Three Fountains Mall. The superstructure is progressing in line with the Q2 2026 milestone, with structural columns and beams now visible above ground level across the main retail block.

MET Builders has completed the foundation slab across the majority of the site and structural steelwork is now rising above ground level. Columns and primary beams for the main retail block, the Shoprite anchor store and the Cashbuild unit are all progressing concurrently.

The construction programme remains on schedule. The milestone programme published in May 2026 targets superstructure completion in Q3 2026, with roofing and external envelope work to follow in Q4 2026.

Site photographs taken on 29 July 2026 show the scale of the structure taking shape. The development team is pleased with the pace of progress and the quality of work being delivered by MET Builders on site.

Foundations complete — bulk earthworks and slab poured

Bulk earthworks are complete and the foundation slab has been poured across the main retail footprint. Construction photographs from June 2026 show significant progress since mobilisation in March.

MET Builders mobilised on site in March 2026 and has made rapid progress through the bulk earthworks and foundation phase. The foundation slab has been poured across the primary retail block, with services trenching and underground infrastructure also substantially complete.

The site is now transitioning from groundworks to superstructure, with structural steelwork deliveries scheduled and column bases being prepared. The programme is tracking to the milestone schedule.

Five construction photographs taken on site in June 2026 are available on the Development page, documenting the progress from cleared site through to completed slab.

Construction commences — MET Builders mobilises on site

Three Fountains Mall has officially broken ground. MET Builders mobilised on site in March 2026, marking the start of the construction phase of the project.

Following the completion of the pre-construction phase — including design development, tenant coordination and contractor procurement — MET Builders has mobilised on site and construction has commenced.

The turnkey contract with MET Builders covers the full construction of the centre from bulk earthworks through to practical completion and handover. The programme targets a March 2027 opening.

The development team at Assegai Assetco is pleased to reach this milestone. Three Fountains Mall will bring a Shoprite-anchored convenience centre to Saul Mkhizeville, serving a catchment that has long lacked access to quality formal retail.
