Three Fountains Shopping Centre is a 5,253 m² convenience retail centre under construction in Saul Mkhizeville, Mpumalanga — designed to bring essential retail, services and employment to a community that has long been underserved by formal retail.

Built from the ground up for this community
Three Fountains Shopping Centre is a greenfield convenience retail development situated on the north-west side of Saul Mkhizeville, opposite Malibongwe Primary School and at the intersection of the two main roads leading into the town. The site benefits from good access, strong visibility and strategic positioning for everyday convenience shopping.
The centre is anchored by Shoprite and designed around the categories with the strongest independently verified demand: food and groceries, clothing and accessories, hardware, health and consumer services. Construction is being delivered by MET Builders under a turnkey contract.
September 2026 Construction Update
Columns and blockwork taking shape
Reinforced concrete columns are taking shape at Three Fountains Shopping Centre. The latest site photographs show columns at different stages of construction, foundation blockwork being laid between columns, and reinforcing prepared for further work.
MET Builders is continuing on site under the turnkey contract, with Assegai Assetco leading the development. The centre's footprint is becoming more defined as masonry and column work advances. The target opening remains 1 May 2027.

August 2026 — Archive
Foundations Taking Shape
Construction at Three Fountains Shopping Centre is progressing through the foundation and substructure phase, with reinforced concrete works, foundation trenches and structural reinforcement now clearly establishing the permanent footprint of the centre.
Platforms One to Three are complete, while Platform Four is substantially advanced. Concrete placement, reinforcement installation and foundation preparation are continuing across the site as the development moves towards the next structural stage.
The current works represent an important milestone for the project, with the initial earthworks now progressively becoming permanent structure.

The September 2026 site photographs confirm that the next major construction activities are now underway — foundation blockwork, structural columns, and reinforcement preparation are all visible in the latest photo set.

Construction commencement
